Las manitas....little hands....helping me learn by exploring the world.

Welcome to the home page of Las Manitas Montessori School.   Veronica and I have very much enjoyed teaching and loving all the students who have come through our doors since September of 2007.  In June, 2010, the time will come for us to turn a page, so to speak, and create a new chapter in both of our lives.  So, we will be closing the school at the end of June 2010. 

In the fall, Jane plans to be a substitute teacher in local preschools, a handwriting tutor for children, and is currently training, via a night course, to become a Certified Parent Coach through the Parent Coaching Institute, in Bellevue, WA.  Veronica has relocated to her hometown in Mexico, to be closer to family and explore opportunities to teach children there.  Amy Lewis, my new co-teacher, has become a treasured teacher to the children and to me and brings her wealth of experience working with PreK, Kinders and 1st/2nd graders to LMMS to finish out our time together as a school community.  She has been passionate about teaching Spanish circletime and the children and I have enjoyed all the new songs, games, stories she has brought us to learn and enjoy.

We want to send out a big THANK YOU to all our LMMS families, past and present.  You and your children have touched our lives forever.  Please keep in touch!!  Preschool teachers LOVE seeing their students grow up and become amazing young people.
