We began this journey by removing the popcorn-style ceiling in
November of '06 and wow,
was that work! Wood-worker and handyman extraordinaire Mike Hartway
has been a major drive in transforming this former kids play room into a
functioning, beautiful school room. Finished views of the school
room are toward the bottom of this page. To respect our
community's privacy, I will not publish pictures of the students.
If you see children on this page, they are mine. :)

Okay, reality hits as popcorn ceiling removal stage goes into high gear. The room feels bigger without the popcorn up there! |

Our "NEW" bathroom for the school. We added new cabinets and shelving to store our curriculum materials. This shade of yellow makes us smile and think of sunny days. |

Wow, Mike went really wild on this reading fort project and used recycled bamboo from the December storm damage. The kids absolutely LOVE it. |

The mural is getting closer to being finished! Rolf and Lorraine love to work on it and we love having them over to watch them work on it. It's been so much fun to see this beautiful work of art evolve. |
